Tested: Cobia 344 with a Seakeeper Stabilizer - Marine Connection

23,588 views 6 years ago

Cobia's #1 Dealer in the World, Marine Connection, tests an upgraded Cobia 344 Center Console featuring a Seakeeper stabilizer.

As stable as the Cobia 344 is with it's 11' 2" beam, the addition of the Seakeeper virtually eliminates all roll. With SeaStation GPS holding heading against tightly packed 3-5 footers during test, we saw roll reduce from 12-degrees to just 2-degrees.

By eliminating boat roll, Seakeeper transforms everyone's experience on the water. Inside a vacuum encapsulation, a flywheel spins at speeds of up to 9,700 rpm. When the boat rolls, the gyro tilts fore and aft (precesses), producing a powerful gyroscopic torque to port and starboard that counteracts the boat roll.

This is the first Cobia 344 in the world equipped with a Seakeeper Stabilizer to the best of our knowledge.

The Cobia 344 CC blends high performance, luxury and fishing smarts into a stunning package that will impress everyone from the sunset cruiser to the serious tournament angler. The double-stepped hull is fast, yet responsive and easy to drive, and provides a stable platform while at anchor or drifting. A level floor stem to stern makes for sure- footed maneuverability throughout the boat and the 11’2” beam means plenty of space and walk-around room even with a full crowd onboard.
