Hydra Sports Boats

Hydra Sports has been manufacturing quality fishing boats since 1973. In 1988, Hydra Sports made the decision to devote their company to solely producing their specialty boats, blue water fishing boats.
Located in Tennessee, Hydra Sports Boats is devoted to their philosophy of “No Compromises.” This means that Hydra is absolutely dedicated to providing the most up to date technology for all of their short range and offshore boats. Every craft in the Hydra lineup is constructed with Dupont Kevlar in the hull, making them the strongest and most durable hulls in the industry. They are dedicated to providing vessels that will be equally comfortable on a cruise with the family, or in a cutthroat tournament fishing setting.
Hydra Sports Boats are divided into three main categories. The first is inshore, short range fishing craft. The second is offshore, tournament capable, deep sea fishing vessels. The third and final is custom sports boats. All are made with the finest materials and the most recent boat building technology. The following will give details on some of the highlights of each category.
The star of the inshore, short range Hydra fishing boats is the 23 Bay. Built for extreme speed and maneuverability, the 23 Bay has two main fishing platforms, an upper helm great for observing, lots of storage room and an ergonomically designed main cockpit. It is just less than 23 feet in length, weighing in at 3,100 pounds. The 23 Bay features a blistering 300 horsepower Yamaha F300 engine, with a top speed of 57.3 miles per hour and a cruising range of 294 miles. This is the ultimate boat for quickly maneuvering from one spot to another on a close to shore fishing expedition.
The star off the offshore Hydra Sports Boat fishing lineup is the 2500 VX. It has an interior cabin with room for lounging and storage. It even has a galley and a head, making it very comfortable for extended deep sea fishing trips. Nearly 25 feet in length and weighing in at just over 6,000 pounds, the 2500 VX is a big boat for big fishing trips. It has a 5,000 horsepower Twin Evinrude 150 E-Tec engine that gives it a top speed of 45.5 miles per hour and a cruising range of 354 miles.
Starring in the custom sports line of Hydra models is the 4200 SF. This is a boat that has almost no end of custom design possibilities. It is equally adept at being a sport fishing standout, a diving dreamboat, or a family fun center. The 4200 is a massive 41 feet in length and weighs in at 23,000 pounds. It boasts a Quad Mercury 300 Verato engine, producing 1,400 horsepower, a top speed of 60 miles per hour and a cruising range of 509 miles.
